World Grows Small(er): Welcome Japan!

It is with great pleasure that I introduce Kazuhito Kidachi as the newest member of WaSP. Kazuhito will be our liaison to Japan, working with the growing number of standards-oriented designers there to spread the good word.

With joy and pleasure, welcome, Kazuhito.

In other WaSP news, here’s what’s on tap and I promise quite refreshing:

  • WaSP will have a complete redesign within one month tops
  • WaSP is reorganizing in order to support the action-oriented times in which we live: more DOM, more accessibility, more standards

Okay, now get this – we will be opening comments (yes we’ll moderate) but oh yeah, we are very interested in what constructive issues you have.

How cool is that? You have no idea what a triumph it is within WaSP to be able to open up to your comments, and I can’t wait until we can. I’ve long disliked our one-sided relationship.

Still, patience is everything, darlings. Let’s say within a month? At least on WaSP. Here at my place . . .

    (Does it need it?!)….Can’t wait for that! (I’m guessing it’ll look similar to the new version of ALA.

    Wasn’t it already ‘on-the-fly’ though – how much re-organising needs to happen?

    Thank you again and again for inviting me, Molly! I promise to do my best as a part of WaSP. Well, I can’t wait WaSP relaunch…recent ALA redesign is quite interesting from view point of resolution suppport, though.

    Nice to see all the bits and pieces going on :-).

    Can I make one request though, the new design will be here in one month or so – can it be a statement once and for all that accessible websites do not have to be boring!

    Even if it takes longer to get it up there. For too long the non-standards community (is that a too nicer way to talk about them?), have thrown standards to the wayside saying that you can’t have good looking accessible sites. Let the new webstandards.org site throw it right back in their faces!

    I am eager to see the new design, and am glad to see that WaSP is going down good roads.

    I still wish there were ways for us little folks to get more involved and do something to help out.

    I echo Richard’s statement. I’d love to see this be the greatest looking, most accessible website possible to stand as the reference point it is.

    I promise it will not only be a fantastic design, but also one that is accessible. We have a few surprises in that regard, but I think I’ll keep ’em close for now ๐Ÿ˜‰
