80,000 IE’s down, CSS on yer iPod

80,000 Internet Explorer users at Penn State University have been told to ditch IE and get a better browser.

The edict was announced last week on the Penn State web site. While the announcement prominently promotes Firefox first, it also recommends Mozilla, Netscape, Opera and Safari.

While you’re talking about this ’round the water coolor, or after work at the local pub, you can also show off your CSS knowledge while pretending to cruise through songlists on your iPod. Westciv has done it again – innovative CSS help via their Complete CSS podGuide and it’s available for the sweetest price of all: Free.

  1. 80,000, thats a fair amount. Might get the people at spreadfirefox jumping around a bit.

  2. Maybe the next thing for Penn would be a standard-based website.

  3. Mehmet: Actually I believe that’s in the plan! At any rate, they’re certainly positioned (if you’ll pardon that very bad pun) to create an excellent standards-based web site.

  4. I had put this on my iPod yesterday, and I realized something. I can’t possibly get any geekier. CSS on my iPod? Heaven help me. 🙂

  5. that sounds really cool !

  6. Apple common stock has tripled this year. Ipods are the reason. No one saw that coming, Thus the 3x stock gain. Ipods are kinda pricey. Thus the,…Apple Computer? Nope Apple Ipod, I an neutral on the topic, but I sure wish I had bought the stock in Feb 2004.
